Account Director

As the Account Director, you lead the team enthusiastically, drawing on your experience to ensure the execution and delivery is excellent, the team is motivated and that campaigns exceed client expectations. As an expert in B2B digital marketing, you’ll set the strategy for the account(s) and where necessary consult with your clients on marketing optimisation, performance optimisation and delivery excellence for marketing programmes.

You’ll be well versed in translating B2B marketing strategy into a digital landscape, defining testing and campaign metrics and delivering ROI for your clients. You must be commercially aware and be used to growing client accounts, cultivating senior client relationships, financial forecasting and working with Board level team members and clients.

Key accountabilities:

  • Manage overall agency/client relationship providing strategic input while guiding teams towards the achievement of client objectives
  • Maintaining a profitable account and providing accurate forecasting and financial information to the Board
  • Create effective digital strategies and work collaboratively with the strategy and creative teams to develop and execute those strategies
  • Manage programme execution and performance of activity whilst ensuring it is strategically sound
  • Ensure campaigns are delivered effectively, tracked, analysed and evaluated with full client reports
  • Ensure tactical alignment with stated goals, objectives and strategy
  • Manage and prioritise workflow through the agency (externally and internally) and provide clear visibility of upcoming work for resourcing requirements, whilst still ensuring deadlines are met
  • Build, nurture and motivate the team in order for them to learn and grow personally and professionally
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with all levels of client contacts, including SMT/Board level
  • Utilise sound project management processes and work collaboratively with other team members
    Effectively manage projects to deliver on cost, quality and timing targets
  • Be the client champion and the escalation point for issues arising with clients

Senior Account Manager

The Senior Account Manager takes a leading role on the client’s account. You’ll deal direct with clients, planning and implementing projects and seeking out new opportunities. With this role, you’ll have responsibility for delivering account-based marketing programmes across the UK and core markets in Europe and Asia.

The programmes include multi-channel digital campaigns, social selling and digital advertising with lots of content strategy and content creation. You’ll be strategising, co-ordinating, leading and managing the client, and the team, to ensure successful project delivery across multiple, simultaneous projects.

On a day-to-day basis, you could be advising a CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) on digital strategy, managing the execution of an account-based marketing programme, implementing a campaign within a marketing automation system, managing the creation of a white paper series or immersing yourself in Google Analytics and other reporting tools to assess the effectiveness of your campaigns. The type of work includes everything from delving into market insights for clients to developing contact strategies; and managing the content marketing production to overseeing the implementation of digital advertising across social platforms (LinkedIn and Facebook) and Google Ads network (PPC).

As a person, you’ll have a natural curiosity about the client’s business, be focused on their success, be able to foster client relationships with ease and have excellent project management skills. You’ll have good commercial acumen, love multi-tasking across projects and be an excellent communicator.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Planning and developing campaign strategy alongside the Account Director and Strategist
  • Execution and management of integrated digital campaigns
  • Presenting creative, strategy, results and campaign optimisation to clients
  • Managing client’s marketing through marketing automation software or working with clients to support their digital teams to implement recommended marketing automation strategies
  • Monitoring, tracking and reviewing campaign performance and making recommendations for improvement and/or testing
  • Writing creative and technical briefs for the account team and external resource
  • Managing projects and ensuring project deadlines are met and budget adhered to
  • Liaising with and dealing direct with clients on project work and campaigns
  • Writing scoping documents for new projects and managing change requests
  • General account management including writing weekly client status reports, contact reports, creating cost estimates, production schedules, editorial calendars and invoicing
  • Copywriting (some)
  • Research clients’ products, services, plans, competitors and target markets
  • Develop industry knowledge, awareness of competition and Modern’s role within the marketplace forecasting forthcoming work for client activity
  • Supporting new business activity and pitching for new clients

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years’ of proven success in client management, ideally agency experience
  • IDM or CIM qualification
  • Excellent project management skills

The post holder will be expected to maintain and develop their professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and events. The role will be suitable for someone who is currently a Senior Account Manager or someone who is ready to take the next step.

Senior Account Executive

The Senior Account Executive is a central role within the account team and supports the delivery of marketing activity across client accounts. You’ll be expected to manage internal resources and ensure that all work is delivered to the highest standards. As a self-starter, great communicator and a team player, you will be the driving force behind content marketing campaigns, lead generation (acquisition) and email marketing, including digital and offline channels. You’ll also manage client’s marketing systems such as Pardot or Marketo, writing copy and managing social media channels.

You’ll be expected to plan campaign activity and manage the delivery of activity from taking the brief, writing proposals and presenting creative work to your clients. You’ll need to be super-organised, understand the principles of project management and be a strong communicator. As part of the client service team, you’ll be expected to be a quick thinker, highly motivated and be a natural leader as well as focussed on delivering to the highest standards.

Experience required:

  • 1+ years of experience in an agency environment working in a hands-on digital marketing role. This can be a digital or integrated agency, client services or campaign management.
  • Degree level educated (no specific degree required)
  • Be able to effectively deal with the client services team face-to-face with regard to the project management and status of projects.
  • Be able to manage and execute digital advertising campaigns, content marketing and integrated campaigns with support from the Account Director.
  • Be able to comprehend campaign metrics and create reports on digital marketing activity.
  • Be able to efficiently maintain accurate / accessible and organised documentation within relevant timeframes.
  • Be able to switch between different types of project work.
  • Be able to prioritise your own workflow based on set deadlines and project deliverables, as agreed with the Client Services team.
  • Be able to accurately proofread and check work to ensure and maintain high standards of output.
  • Be able to interpret an editorial calendar, content plan and distribution schedule to the timeframes specified and deliver to the expected quality.
